I'm not sure of any facts about your job, but I can offer an opinion.

It is also not possible, in versions 8.x thus far, to install more than one instance of the non-client tiers on the same machine. I'm curious what is blocking this. I've installed an additional instance of Business Glossary 8.5 on the same AIX server with the services tier and metadata tier, no eng...

Once you are on 8.5, there is a new utility called istool that can be run from client or server to export DataStage projects and other projects or objects in the suite beyond DataStage. I've scheduled a script on a unix server using istool and it has been working well. For some unknown reason, I cou...

It would be useful to be able to keep some Authors out of some Categories! And it would be useful to be able to keep some BG users from browsing DataStage job logs. That was the main reason I installed an additional instance. I had a PMR on this and hope that the BG security options are improved in...

I have installed multiple instances of BG 8.5 on the same server for different purposes but haven't had any real users test it yet. I suppose that could be considered one form of partitioning a BG. I have heard from previous testing that once you grant the Author role to a user, they can author any ...

When you said you split the job, what happened? Did each new job continue stuck in running status also or just one of the new jobs? Is there any after-job subroutine setting in the job properties? How do you know the job is finished when it still says running? When you determine the job is finished,...

Lookup stage can work, using multi-row as Sahitya mentioned, if one of the files fits into memory. Put the smaller input file as the reference link. You would have to add an ID column to each input file by adding stages between the input files and the lookup with a new column added set to ID = 1 for...

It should not be necessary to restart the DataStage server or the Linux server to resolve most problems. When you cleared the status file, did the status change to Compiled or stay Running? Sometimes when killing processes/releasing locks, you also need to check shared memory segments and remove cer...

What stage type are you using to read from DB2?

What is the value passed to #jp_LIST#?

Are you running both instances at the same time?

If you run the failing istance by itself does it always fail?

I know if I had an urgent issue, I would not post it on a discussion board. Check with your SQL Server DBA. Maybe they can respond to an urgent issue quicker.

I get that same error when trying to log into a client while Information Server 8.5 is down. If your server really is up then maybe there is a firewall blocking traffic between your client and your server.

I would break the job into 3 jobs for testing: 1. DRS source --> text file1 (test DRS settings = 1 vs. 100 vs. 1/5/10K) 2. text file1 --> xfm/hash -> text file2 (find out how much time) 3. text file2 --> DRS target (test DRS settings = 1 vs. 100 vs. 1/5/10K) Then you should know more about setting c...

There should be more detail in the errors. Check again or run the job and look in the detailed job log for a meaningful error message.
