I see the Execute Command stage requires a command and its parameters
I can't view the protected info. Could anyone confirm that I can just put the complicated command in the command entry and leave its parameters blank?

thanks

Execute Command stage and multiple commands

Hi, How to execute multiple commands using a Execute Command stage? I see the Execute Command stage requires a command and its parameters. For a complicated command like the following, tar cf mytar.tar A.txt B.txt C.txt ; mv sample.html public_html ;chmod go-rwx biglist what shall I do? Moreover, ca...

Row generator, string for alphabet algorithm

Hi,

I my Row generator, I choose the alphabet algorithm, and give 'abcdefghij1234567890' as its string. This works. Then I give 'abcdefghij', and it works too.

Now, when I give it '1234567890', the job aborted, saying '1234567890' is invalid. How can I make it works?

Thanks

Didn't know how 2 pivoted columns correlate with each other.
Hold on -- I replied before I try it, BUT it turns out that I was right. There is no correlation between the 2 pivoted columns, at least my results appears to me so.

What I am missing?

Thanks

thanks! Didn't know how 2 pivoted columns correlate with each other.

Is it possible, for the 2 pivoted columns to pivot on different number of fields?

Thanks

Pivoting with an extra field

Simple pivot operation - input data +-----------------------------------------------------------+ | REPID | last_name | Jan_sales | Feb_sales | Mar_sales | |-----------+-----------+-----------+-----------+-----------| | 100 | Smith | 1234.08 |...

ETL data flow analysis

Hi, I've inherited a big ETL project with minimum documentation. So far I need to do some bug fixes and in the near future I need to do enhancements as well. In order to understand what's going on, I played with the "data flow" tool that DS8 has, but wasn't able to figure out what it is do...

- It's easy to define data connector stages from data connection objects, how about other way around, defining new data connection objects from existing data connector stages? Note to myself, Yes, Connector stages can be used to save any connection information that you specify in the stage as a dat...

Data connection objects

Hi, I know that, Data connection objects store the information that is needed to connect to a particular database in a reusable form. They can be used to quickly define a connection to a data source in a job design for related connector stages. I'm wondering, - If the connection info is updated in t...

I have the same issue on 8.1 - but only for parallel jobs that have one or more ODBC Connector stages. For all other jobs I'm able to create a job report. Thanks, that explains the mystery to me why I was able to generate a test report on a simple task, while wasn't able to generate any for all the...

Thanks for sharing. > /opt/app/dstage/DataStage752/Ascential/DataStage/DSEngine/bin/dsjob -lprojects >> prj Maybe just '>' instead of '>>'? > for prj_name in `/opt/app/dstage/DataStage752/Ascential/DataStage/DSEngine/bin/dsjob -lprojects` Maybe just a `cat prj` to speed up a bit?
