Is it possible to rename a hashed file?

Subject says it all really.

I've searched this forum without turning up anything useful.

If anybody could shed any light, I'd be most grateful.

Cheers,

Rob

As you say, you don't get the option of setting defaults when you add a new user-defined env var through the Designer GUI

How did you create the environment variables? I think you may need to use DSAddEnvVar from the Datastage Dev Kit

I'm thinking to write N jobs (where N>1) which append data to the same dataset at the same time. If you're implying that Datasets are magically 'self-sorting' then the answer is 'No'. They do preserve the sort order of rows added but if one of your processes adds a record out of sequence it will re...

Symptoms are: when launching Monitor a dialog box with 'Overflow' and an error code pops up and Director (not just monitor) aborts.

Not a biggie, but will pass it up the line.

Overflow in Director Monitor

I've just had Director abort on me a couple of times with an overflow. It seems to be when I launch the monitor and the job row count has reached c 2.1 billion. Is Datastage storing the count in an Int d'ya think? Thought this was meant to be a world class ETL tool? In these days of Global Data Ware...

If you hash-partition the reference link, then the input link must also be hash-partitioned, may be expensive. From the Developer's guide There are some special partitioning considerations for lookup stages. You need to ensure that the data being looked up in the lookup table is in the same partitio...

Strange because I've had jobs that take ages to reset, especially when interprocess buffering is switched on. I've knocked up a test script that's working fine. Its a combination of Uncle Kim's -wait on the reset with your -jobinfo before and after just to make sure its worked and a sleep as well! T...

Wouldn't a sleep 5 leave open the possibility of the reset not having completed in time or are you using a -wait as well?

The annoying thing is, on the first run of this job I saw the problem happen and I've tried everything to get it to happen again but it won't.

Problems using -jobstatus with dsjob -run -mode RESET

I've been having problems with dsjob -run -mode RESET -jobstatus not waiting for the reset to finish before returning. There's a few postings on DSXchange in this general area but can anyone confirm whether this is a known bug? To get around the problem I was going to call the reset (as above), use ...
