Issue importing metadata using DB2 Connector
Has anyone had an issue importing metadata using the DB2 connector where the instance name causes a problem? The instance of DB2 on the metadata tier (separate server from the engine) is named db2inst2, however, the DB2 client instance on the engine tier is db2inst1. Every time I try to import, it t...

Look in the Install and Upgrade Guide for copyorchdist if you don't want to install the complete DS package on every node of the cluster. That copies only the binaries and libraries that are required for runtime. You can't create jobs and compile them on the remote nodes, but you will be able to dis...

Argh, it would not be for the same job. The first job uses file 1, the second job uses file 2, the third job uses file1. Thus, Each job would use a file according to its natural number ordering for when it is deployed. You know, if x%2 = 1 then use file 1, if x % 2 = 0 then use file 2. Something si...

Ultra-- I understand that you're trying to use both network interfaces on a single SMP. But....... What network resources are you attempting to reach? Is there a database or file somewhere on the network you're wanting to use? As for the thought of using multiple config files in a round robin approa...

Greg-- How many VPROCs or AMPs is the table spread over? I am guessing that you have a rather large TD instance (like at least 50 VPROCs). You might want to set requestedsessions to something more manageable to keep the repartitioning to a minimum. You set it in the Advanced connection options in th...

Are you saying that you are trying to call two network interfaces on the same server and then not specifying a remote server to connect to? If so, I'm not sure why you're trying to do that. If I am not understanding what you're saying, please let me know. Maybe if I saw your config file it would help.

OK....I should apologize for two things. I am a little slow in responding to this post, but I had to go dig up my info on how I saw this done. Also, this is a rather lengthy response--but then again, it's not a quick setup either. So go grab a cold beverage and some chips, and then let's consider th...

Arnd is 110% correct regarding transformers in PX jobs. Avoid them like the plague if you are expecting any kind of performance out of your job (which is the reason we're all using PX in the first place, right?!?!?). Jay, my suggestion is this: 1. Create a shell script that uses sed and/or awk to pa...

Rao, you shouldn't be so hasty in your comments. Please see the osh script I have below, which was compiled on a 7.5 instance of PX. It clearly shows that you can have more than two inputs to a join. dxp's issue is that he doesn't have a common key in all three tables. If he did, he could join all t...
