On AIX 5.3 and 6.1 DataStage 7.5.3 has a bug which means you can't import metadata using Orchestrate. I raised this with support and they confirmed they had recreated the problem and were raising an ecase for it but couldn't say when a patch would be available. So if you're using EE then you might b...

As previously said are there no other error messages?

Thanks for reply, it wasn't access rights, I had already tried SYSTEM login. I raised a case with IBM support and after installing v7.5.3 they reproduced the problem so an ecase has been raised. I am suprised that nobody else has come across the problem but I guess nobody is using 7.5.3 with EE yet....

Cheers

Install v8 using sudo

I am meant to be performing the install of v8 on site but it is not possible to get root access. The UNIX admin says that all additional access is granted through sudo. My question is whether it is sufficient to use sudo root access to perform the install or whether this will just lead to problems. ...

Do you need the files to be separate or can you simply cat them together before processing them?

Obviously this is just a work around.

Having said that, have you tried rebuilding the repository? if not.. login to Universe, log to the project that is having the problem, start ds.tools and choose the second option to rebuild the repository. make sure everyone is out of datastage and nothing is running when you do this. cd $DSHOME . ....

I've tried this option and doesn't work. Do you have any other solution? Thanks If I didn't have the help of someone like Ray to explain exactly what to do to delete all the references to the job I would just create a new project and do and export/import of all the jobs. Once happy the new project ...

I have also suffered issues with the folder stage. Do you actually process the data in the file or are you just using the filename? If so you can work around by using sequential file, using "ls -1" in the filter command.

On Unix i would probably use the tail command in the filter options of the sequential file stage to take a chunk of the end of the file and work with that. I haven't used them but i am pretty sure you can download tail for windows from the web, probably even from MS now.

Rather than manually deleting the executables have you tried just deleting the job from Manager, then either reimporting the job our renaming one of the copies you said works?
