The issue is that certain stages have issues with password containing '*'. The resolution is to ensure all password fields wrap the password in double-quotes to ensure the full password is passed back to the database system.

Have you checked your .odbc.ini and uvodbc.config files are setup correctly on your server?? You can use the DS_CONNECT command from a universe command prompt within your project directory to confirm if you have setup your config correctly. Check your Version.xml file in the default installation location, this will tell whether the install was successful or not.

To reinstall you will need to use the -force option on the install command

Hi Just had a similar problem myself. You probably need to download and install the MSXML Parser. See system doco http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iisinfsv/v8r5/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.swg.im.iis.productization.iisinfsv.install.doc/topics/wsisinst_chk_server1.html The parser can be found by...

Hi IBM recently release a patch for DataStage 8.1 Fixpack2 which I have discovered corrects a lot of issues around the SCD stage, so before you do anything I would recommend applying this patch. There are a number of tutorials around the SCD stage if you do a Google search, I used this one and found...

Hi Ernie As part of the training process various users were assigned data steward status, this gave them ownership of various categories and terms within the glossary and I believe made them more engaged. Procedures have been put in place to allow for feedback and suggested changes to definitions, w...

We've just put BGA onto 1500 desktops across the organisation...taken about 6 months to get the glossary into a shape that is meaningful to the business community. We are still taking baby steps, but the feed back I'm getting in regard to BGA is positive currently. Had a number of issues around MDW,...

IBM have made a patch available to optionally allow you to determine if the 'Before SQL' will be executed before the 'Table Action'. The patch is JR38195 and it requires 8.1FP1 installed, and is available for AIX. I'm not sure if its available for any other systems, and it only applies to the Oracle...
