I have exported jobs from 7.5 and imported 8.5 version project .
After exported all jobs in 8.5 , while compiling i have got error "Stage Type Object 'ORAOCI8' not found".
After that i have replaced oraoci8 to oraoci9 .
Later i compiled all jobs, compilation success.

Hi, i have installaed datastage 8.5 version using user id root. present i am stopping/starting services using root user only. But as per my policy , i cannot use root user id to stop/start services in preprod or production environments. So, how can i change root to non root level to stop/start servi...

i did fresh installation,removing temporary folder files, selecting diffirent destination installation path and removed all objects in XMETA schema.
Then installation went fine and successfully installed datastage.

I have deleted destination folder to install 8.5 which we used earlier , and also deleted all objects from xmeta schema. Then i tried fresh installation ,installation got success.

When we try to schedule job through director,we are getting following error
"Error adding to schedule: at: you are not authorized to use at. sorry "
we are using user id DSADM.
please help me in this ,how we can resolve this error and schedule jobs through director.

previously we have ds 7.5, in same server we installed 8.5 version.
we installed in webconsole/graphical mode, installed in sun solaris server.
two versions 7.5 & 8.5 in same server.

Every time we need to stop dsengine,ASB Agent,WAS,Metadata Repository and start dsengine,ASB Agent,WAS,Metadata Repository if we want stop and start 8.5 services.
if so, y we need to stop and start all services every time.

We did not contacted IBM support and just ignored the error ,installation went fine and server installation completed.

yes, it asked enter -itag name and port number.

we stopped the 7.5 serrvices and continued installation,installation got success.
can we start 7.5 services up or not .
if not what are things we need to check and confirm to restart 7.5 services up.
