Can anyone tell me what exactly the Nutcracker service is used for. I've noticed that for each client tool I open, a new instance of nutcsrv4.exe shows up in Task Manager. And if I start a job, multiple instances of nutcsrv4.exe get spawned.

Do you recall what you did to resolve this? I just got the same error while importing jobs in version 8.1.

Thanks Craig. I just finished writing and testing two jobs. One reads from DS_JOBS and creates a text file of job names. The second is a job control script that iterates through the file and validates each job.

Thanks Andy. It's easy enough to create a project and import the dsx files. I am more interested in how to migrate the hundreds of hashed files we have in our current project.

You have to know your data. Whatever valid valid values your company uses for deptno you don't want to use for your initial value. Use something else.
