Arnd, Thanks for your response. It is a 8 Cpu box with 130GB of swap. The following is the error from the log CaptureDate,4: Unable to open project <project name> - 149. CaptureDate,4 is a server shared container. And the job is failing even when it is the only one running. Any suggestions please. T...

Job fails running on 6 node but runs fine with < 6 node c

I am running a job which is using around 5 server shared containers and we are in the process of upgrading from 6.0 to 7.5. This job is failing when it is run on 6 node config file but runs fine with less than 6 node config. This is on version 7.5. It is running fine with 6 nodes on version 6.0 on t...

Thanks for your replies. The situation is that we are upgrading 3 things here. Solaris 2.8 to 2.9, Oracle 8i to 9i and DS 6.0.1 to 7.0.1r1. After installing solaris and oracle we installed DS and imported the jobs from 6.0.1 and compiled them. The values that changed are the path of the DSEngine, th...

DataStage Upgrade

Ours could be the longest possible upgrage to be done ever. We are upgrading from 6.0.1 to 7.0.1r1 and this is not an inplace upgrade. We installed 7.0.1r1 in our new server and imported all the jobs from 6.0.1 server. Once the import is complete, we are having tonnes of problems in running the jobs...

Re: C++ Compiler for PX

Anand, We have the APT_COMPILER and LINKER set to the standard SunPro C++ Compiler. We had the same error and there was a patch to be applied. Contact Ascential. Also if you look at your error message "/appl/Ascential/DataStage/PXEngine/include/apt_util/rtti.h:7:21: strings.h: No such file or d...

Has anyone come across the following error. If so could you please let me know the remedy. The job was created in 6.0 and exported to 7.0.1r1 and compiled, but is failing with the error "main_program: Fatal Error: index arg (2) exceeds count: 1". Any suggestions please. All the other jobs ...

connecting to a different server

Can we connect to a different server on the same job to read a dataset. I want to connect to the dev. server from the production server to read the dataset in dev. server. Is this possible? If so how?

Thanks.

We had the similar issue in our parallel jobs. We had to use the shared containers to do the aggregation or the addition rather than the aggregator stage. My suggestion is try using the shared container and test the output. Ascential came back to us telling that it is bug in 6.x and the release note...
