Final Disposition
I finally found time to complete this 'task'. I wanted to thank Ray again for providing me with a running start. I had to do a bit of sleuthing and testing to troubleshoot a problem I was having with !Get.Pathname but I learned a great deal doing that so it was well worth the effort. It 'appears' th...

Go to his website and download the job, it's very well documented. You feed an export (.dsx file) in one end and and a .csv file comes out the other end. 8) We used to keep the output in a spreadsheet, but pushing it up into a table made things easier. Thank you, Craig, I will definitely look into ...

Problem is the Usage Analysis data is easily broken so things don't link up properly. Also, if people don't pull the metadata from the repository and just type it in for instance, there is no linkage. Something to keep in mind. I use Chuck's job to farm this information from an export and then I lo...

Discovering Where Hashed Files are used
Can someone tell me if there is a straight forward way to find out what jobs are creating/using a specific hash file by name? When I see a hashed file stage in a job that is 'under review', I'd like to be able to quickly identify the job that created the hash file and any/all jobs that may be refere...

I have no experience with "business and raising money" on the web. However, it seems to me that Ascential has a lot to gain from the existence and continued operation of this forum. The more readily information and assistance is available, the more likely it is that professionals will cont...

Some things are just "what the doctor ordered"
To anyone and everyone involved: I just cannot overstate how much I enjoy this forum and how useful it is to me on an almost daily basis. I use it regularly to learn new things, save hours of 'trial and error' "adventures", obtain additional perspective on approaches and methods etc.. etc....

moving image files (.Tiff, .jpg, .gif etc) with DataStage
Is it possible to move image/graphic files from one source to another using DataStage? We have a requirement to move signature files from one place to another during a conversion project. The target is a SQLServer data field of type 'image'. The developers cannot find anyting specific in the DS docu...

Deleted file
It's been a while since I've done any UNIX work but I'm just wondering if you could set the DataStage permissions on the directory where that file is created to not allow file deletions, run the job (DS would error out on the deletion attempt) and you might then be able to inspect the file after the...
