Thanks Chulett for your reply! It is very simple query. it used to returns ~ 10 rows from source table. DBA said that DB is active and no problem in their end. I just wonder what could cause for hangs and no error message as well. Any standard steps to isolate the issue? So OCI directly look up tnsn...

oracle stage view data hangs forever!

Hi Gurus! In designer, I tried to view the data(Oracle Stage), as soon as i gave credentials, it hangs forever! Can expertise tell me what i should check first? like troubleshoot ODBC connectivity using ./ivtestlib? Do we have anything for oracle trouble shooting steps? Thanks Basheer Ahamed Malik

Thanks for the information... Now I got it... Actually.. i have included both "- wait" as well as "- jobstatus". but it was given broken pipe error. so i decided to remove "- wait" option. I have got Error 81002 waiting for job Broken pipe.. without - wait or jobstatus....

I thought... dsjob -wait option would be applicable for another dsjob command not for script.

So its doesnt matter.. whether you are callling DSjob or script
