You can actually use FTP-Plugin stage as a target and create your output file with headings.

Please specify 'Yes' to first line column names option in Input Properties tab.

What is the Data Style or Data Format specification for your input file ? Where is your input file coming from ?

Usually this is how I define my CFF input source from Mainframe.

Character set : EBCDIC

Data Style / Data format ( depending on DataStage version : Binary

Hi Shawn, did you ever started the Netezza Network with people who are using Netezza with DataStage ? We are using Netezza as a target for our Datawarehouse project using Information server version 8.0.1. Netezza Enterprise Stage is just a bulk loader using either 'ET' or 'NZLoad' options. To use Netezza as target I am also using ODBC Enterprise stage. I haven't seen performance issue with Lookup ... but of course I have only around 10 million records on my Netezza table.

You need to have FTP Service installed on your Unix server. You also need to know 'Mainframe host' information before you can try FTP Command.

Your Mainframe OSGroup should be able to help you with this information.

What kind of data your file is expected to contain ? If it is not packed decimal or signed numeric you can just create a text file with and use it as input. Make sure the test file columns map correctly to your copy book. Otherwise if you have access to mainframe you can create data using tools like...

Hi Rajasekhar, The test data should be coming from source. For Example : If your source Cobol flat file is coming from Mainframe you need to get the file from Mainframe as input source via ftp plugin or CFF stage. This is best way of testing rather than creating a file manually to avoid any incompat...

I could find another way to work around extract data from VSAM files. This is what I did: Created a small routine in Mainframe to convert VSAM file to sequential file and ftp to DataStage server. Use Complex Flat file stage to map the data, transform and load. The reason for the work around is, we d...
