Re: Deleting Jobs and Importing back causing duplicate names
As suggested by Arnd have you tried re-indexing? Hi All, In my project, some jobs name are showing two/three times under same category after doing deleting and importing modified jobs. Again, say job name abc is appearing three times, I can delete one but two still remains. When I delete others, it ...

Re: How to implement multiple joins in DataStage?
Are you working on PX or server edition, will be my first question! But in general to answer your question yes we can implement joins in DS. I have a db2 query that contains multiple joins involving 4 or 5 tables. How do I implement it in DataStage? Do I have to have individual 'JOIN STAGE' for each...

Re: TIMEOUT implementation in DataStage job
Craig, I wonder will the job hang or abort because of connection faliure ? I have a job which is accessing an external application called 'HiPortfolio' through ODBC stage . There is an issue where the DS job hangs even when the 'HiPortfolio' server is down. i.e. it tries to connect to the applicatio...

Re: Not able to connect to Server from DS clients
Check the project name ! If that is also correct then it may be the case of multi port server where in you have to specify the port number along with the IP, because telnet never requires project or port number. Hi When I try to connect from any of DS clients to DS Server, I am getting the following...

Re: DataStage engine
Hmmm for a DS forum like thee the question is just like what is brain and whats the purpose! Sorry if I sound rude, but please go through the pdf's and basic search before posting such querries! Because answering such a vast and open question won't be as simple as posting! What is data stage engine?...

Apologies the env variable I have specified is for PX!! hmm I am not sure whether its age or work getting on to me  But I still hold the point of server sort performing good enough to handle huge data, the only cases of abort I have seen is because of the temp space being full for which we can...

I always wonder, how they get these names! As in is HAWK a acronym :? What I always thought was interesting was Ascential always led me to believe that Hawk was there next version of DSTX. But going to user group meetings I felt they used it for both DS and DSTX. That the products were going to be m...

Re: DS Hashed File
Lavanya, Can you please delete the duplicate post or request the moderator to do the same. Dear Experts, I have started leaning about the different stages of DS. I have few queries regarding hashed file stage. 1. What are the possible situations, where we can use hashed file stage? 2. What should be...

Although was surprised by the concept not applicable to partitioned db, I tried it on my db (db2 paritioned) and it worked fine! Can you please detail as in what kind of complexity you are talking about here ? You can do it yes. But there are limitations. If your database is partitioned then it beco...

Re: Job sequence compilation problems
I am not sure what details Ray already have attached (as I am not a charter member here  ) but let me have the pleasure to detail it again for guys like me! The issue is seen when you don't have enough rights on the XML package directory i.e. you should have admin rights on the directory. So go...
